1. About these terms
These terms cover the TikTok reporting integration operated by The Thoughtful Agency (Aust) Pty Ltd (ABN 86 630 992 657), trading as The Thoughtful Agency (“we”, “us”, “our”). They apply to any advertiser who authorises our TikTok developer application to access their TikTok ad account, and to the advertising data we receive through it.
They sit alongside our Privacy Policy, and alongside TikTok’s own terms, which continue to govern your TikTok For Business account.
2. What the integration does
We run a marketing agency. We buy and manage paid media for our clients, and we report on how that media performs.
Our TikTok developer application reads advertising performance data from the TikTok ad accounts we manage. We use that data to produce client performance reports and to compare results across the accounts we run. The integration is read only.
3. What data we access
Through the TikTok Marketing API we read:
4. What we do not do
5. How we use the data
We use the data to report to our clients on the performance of the advertising we run for them, and to benchmark performance across the accounts we manage. We do not use one client’s account data to identify or single out another client.
6. Who else sees the data
We use a third party reporting supplier, Beam AI, to help produce our client reports. Beam AI receives the reporting data described in section 3 and uses it only to produce reports for us. They act on our behalf, under a written agreement that requires them to keep the data confidential and secure, to use it for no other purpose, and to delete it when we stop working with them. Beam AI have separately accepted TikTok’s developer terms, and we remain responsible to TikTok for their handling of this data.
We do not pass TikTok data to anyone else, other than to the advertiser the data belongs to, or where we are required to by law.
7. Keeping the data
We keep reporting data for 36 months so that we can produce reports covering prior periods and show performance over time. After that it is deleted. If you withdraw your authorisation, we stop reading new data immediately, and we will delete the data we hold on request.
8. Authorising and withdrawing
Access begins when an authorised user of the ad account approves our application through TikTok’s authorisation flow. That authorisation can be withdrawn at any time, and does not need our agreement:
Withdrawing authorisation stops all further access. Reports already produced are not affected.
9. Security
Access credentials for the integration are held in a managed password vault and shared only with Beam AI, the supplier described in section 6. We revoke credentials when they are no longer needed, and when a working relationship ends.
10. Your TikTok account
You remain responsible for your TikTok For Business account, and your use of it stays subject to TikTok’s own terms and policies. Nothing here changes your relationship with TikTok. We are not acting for TikTok, and TikTok is not a party to these terms.
11. Changes
We may update these terms as the integration changes. The date at the top shows when they were last updated. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will tell the advertisers whose accounts are authorised.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
