Looking for a fresh digital marketing agency? Let’s Talk Growth today.

Meet Jess, our Digital Designer at TTA

I design anything from Meta & Google ads to email campaigns to social media content, across formats from static to motion—concepting and crafting creative that reflects each client’s brand identity.

What does a typical week look like for you as Thoughtful’s Digital Designer:
I’m constantly switching between clients, which keeps my creative brain active and inspired as I get to work across a wide range of aesthetics and brand identities. I work collaboratively with our account managers to ensure what I’m designing is aligned with the strategy. A typical week could look like designing fresh email templates for a long-term client in the morning, concepting and building creative for a new business pitch in the afternoon, then jumping into new collection campaigns for another client—all in a day’s work. The next day might be spent editing social media videos, creating EOFY sale ads, and collaborating with the design team to brainstorm fresh, on-trend ideas for our clients. Each day is so so different, with the wide range of client work we are lucky to have!

What did you study or how did you get into the role:
I studied a double degree at UTS—a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication and a Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation. In my penultimate year, I completed a three-week creative internship at a startup called “Hey You” as part of my course, working under their marketing team. After the internship wrapped, the Head of Marketing mentioned he was impressed with my work and recommended a place he thought would be a great fit for me to grow my design skills—The Thoughtful Agency (where his wife happened to work!). Thanks to that connection, I reached out to the Creative Lead at Thoughtful to ask about any internship or work experience opportunities. A few months later, during my final year of uni, I started interning there as a graphic design intern. After three months, I moved into a part-time junior designer role, eventually transitioned to a full-time junior designer role, and now I’m here as a Digital Designer.

What does success in the role look like? Client results / growth etc
Success in my role looks like a few things. It could be as simple as receiving a compliment from the client regarding the creative I’ve sent through, or coming up with new ideas that elevate their brand. I am encouraged to hear when an ad creative I’ve increased engagement for the brand, or an email boosted clicks, or a social post brought more people to become aware of their brand and story! It’s also a mix of working collaboratively with the design team and account managers, being able to switch between different client aesthetics while still delivering cohesive, on-brand creative. And of course, continuing to grow in my design skills, solving creative challenges, and learning new things along the way.

Meet Dinesh, our Developer at TTA

I work with brands to build high-performing, SEO-friendly eCommerce stores and provide ongoing technical support—ensuring their stores run smoothly, rank well on search engines, and are optimized to drive conversions.

What does a typical week look like for you as Thoughtful’s Developer:
Every week brings new challenges and opportunities in my role. I work across a dynamic mix of responsibilities—from building custom, high-performing webstores and implementing SEO best practices to troubleshooting technical issues and delivering effective solutions for clients. Throughout the week, I collaborate closely with design, SEO, and marketing teams, providing expertise and support to ensure project run smoothly.

What did you study or how did you get into the role:
I completed a Master of Information Technology. My programming journey began shortly after finishing my undergraduate degree, when I joined a web development agency as an intern and was introduced to real-world development environments. That hands-on experience helped me bridge the gap between theory and practice, sparking a deeper interest in the field. Since then, I’ve continuously learned and adapted to new tools, platforms, and systems. Each stage of my career has expanded my skill set and enabled me to stay agile in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.

What does success in the role look like? Client results / growth etc
Success in my role is defined by the impact I create for the brands I work with. This includes high-performing, SEO-optimized websites that not only look visually appealing but also drive meaningful conversions and deliver a smooth user experience from start to finish.

Equally important is building strong, collaborative relationships with clients—understanding their goals, addressing their challenges, and offering thoughtful solutions tailored to their needs. Success also means proactively solving technical issues before they escalate, and continuously refining the website based on data insights and user feedback. When clients see revenue growth, improved brand visibility, and fewer technical roadblocks, it’s a clear sign that my work is delivering real value.

Meet Elicia, our Senior Performance Account Manager at TTA!

Explain your role in a sentence:
I work with brands to build data-driven, omnichannel marketing strategies that grow revenue and strengthen brand awareness in an efficient and impactful way.

What does a typical week look like for you:
Every week is different at Thoughtful, and that’s what makes it exciting. One week might involve developing strategies to expand into international markets, while the next could be spent staying updated on platform changes and adjusting our approach to keep clients ahead. With the digital landscape constantly evolving,  from shifts in US tariffs to the growing influence of AI, staying informed and adaptable is key.

What does success in the role look like?
Success in my role is about more than just hitting targets. It’s making sure our clients feel fully supported and like we’re a true extension of their team, going beyond the usual agency approach focused only on digital. That means being genuinely invested in their growth, working side by side to drive real results and build their brand for the long haul.

How do you manage work life balance:
I hit the gym most days after work because it helps me completely switch off and get my body moving. During the day, my brain is deep in data, so making time to move and spend quality time with family and friends really helps me recharge. On weekends, I love getting outdoors and catching up with friends and family over a nice meal. It’s the perfect way to relax and reset for the week ahead.

What are the 3 important areas brand should be leaning into to shape their new fin year digital road map

  • Creating Personal Customer Experiences: Today’s customers expect more than just a product, they want to feel understood. Brands that use customer behaviour and purchasing habits to shape their messages to individual needs and preferences build stronger connections and loyalty. It’s all about making every interaction count.
  • Staying Flexible & Trial New Technologies: Things move fast in the digital landscape, and brands that can adapt quickly have the upper hand. Whether it’s AI, automation, or new platforms, being open to trying new tools and approaches helps you stay ahead and find what really works. Flexibility is key to keeping up with changing customer expectations and market trends.
  • Don’t Overlook Your Organic Channels: Paid channels are great for driving new customers, but without a strong retention strategy, you risk losing long term value. Channels like CRM, email and loyalty programs help turn first time buyers into repeat customers, increasing lifetime value and making your acquisition strategy work harder.

What are you most looking forward to in the coming months?

We have a lot of exciting projects in the pipeline at Thoughtful, including industry benchmarking reports, and with the peak retail period just a couple of months away, the timing couldn’t be better. These insights will provide our clients with a clearer understanding of their performance compared to the broader e-commerce market, allowing us to refine strategies and deliver more effective, efficient plans for BFCM.

Meet Matt, our Performance Lead at TTA!

As Performance Lead, my role predominantly involves managing and supporting both our clients and the internal performance team.

What does a typical week look like for you as Thoughtful’s Google / Performance Lead:
That’s the fun thing about working in an agency, most weeks are different. In general, my week consists of optimising paid channels and strategies for our brands, as well as planning future campaigns with our clients.

What did you study or how did you get into the role:
I got into Performance Marketing following an internship with a PR agency. Whilst I enjoyed the campaigns we were running, I struggled with the limited data and proof points when it came to the success of our campaigns for the businesses we worked with.

Naturally, following on from this, the world of PPC and Performance marketing was a great fit. I started managing campaigns mainly on Google about 7 years ago, from there my interest in the world of performance expanded to the majority of paid channels and digital strategy.

What does success in the role look like? Client results / growth etc
Of course, in our role, the key metric is results. Be it Profit, Revenue, ROAS or New Customer Acquisition, ultimately to be successful in Performance, you need to be adaptable and dynamic in the pursuit of these north star goals.

However, we are a relationship-based industry; to really develop and grow in performance marketing, you need to be able and willing to have open and honest conversations with the brands and businesses you work with. The ability to understand where performance is weak or strong will make the difference in whether or not your marketing efforts are successful. At TTA, I think this is something that we do very well, building strong relationships with our clients, allowing us to have open conversations on areas that are or are not working about our strategies and pivoting quickly.

What are the 3 important areas brand should be leaning into to shape their new fin year digital road map

  • Focus on New Customer Acquisition; Paid channels are a great way to reach and acquire new customers, with specific targeting and options in terms of campaigns to help find new customers for brands. With the cost of advertising gradually increasing, brands should aim to focus their media spend on capturing these new customers whilst leveraging their owned channels like Email and Organic Search to help drive retention.
  • Creative, Creative, Creative: This has been the biggest topic of conversation over the last year, with channels like Meta and Google leaning heavily into creative performance. Creative is the new targeting, by providing paid channels diversified creative and by leveraging Meta, Google and TikTok’s algorithms, you will be able to show your ads with greater relevancy and reach.
  • Don’t Neglect AU/NZ: If 2025 has taught us anything so far this year, it’s that nothing is certain. Last year, a lot of brands here in AU looked to the US as a great opportunity to grow (still is!); however, over the past couple of months, we have seen the impact of tariffs on a oflot brands and manufacturers across the world. This has meant that a lot of businesses and brands have had to pivot and change strategies at rates rarely seen. This is no bad thing, though. I still believe that there is a lot of opportunity for most brands domestically, with the AU consumer supporting AU brands and businesses. Marketers and Brands should use the uncertainty overseas as an opportunity to reassess AU performance to see if there are any opportunities to grow further, both here and in NZ.

What are you most looking forward to in the coming months?
Internally, we have lots of exciting things coming up. As we come to the end of the Financial Year, we are starting to talk about all the new resources and opportunities at our disposal to help drive performance.

There is also something very exciting coming up at the start of Q3 for both TTA and our clients. Watch this space.
